The Collection

The Society maintains an large collection of microfilm and printed source materials. These source materials focus on Berks County but also cover surrounding counties and states. There are reference materials pertaining to the principal countries of origin for immigrants to Pennsylvania (primarily Germany).

The collection includes church, ministerial, cemetery and census records, tax lists, wills, marriages, immigration records, histories, military records, genealogies, and general reference works. Many of the records are available in printed form which makes searching much easier.

Library Search

For a $25.00 donation, the library volunteers will search library materials for you. This donation includes the search and up to 5 two-sided copies of records found. There is a 25 cents per page charge for more than 10 pages.  The type of records to be searched are determined by the option number selected.

bulletOption 1: Search our Vertical Family File for any information on a named individual or family.
bulletOption 2: Search our Tax Records and our Will Abstracts or Letters of Administration records for any documents on a named individual or family.
bulletOption 3: Search a named Church or Pastor's record for an individual or family record.

We cannot guarantee that the information you seek can be found in local records nor can we guarantee the work of these researchers.
